I just finished directing and producing a documentary for the past year, and I'm coming up out of my editing cave for air. I've lived here in SF for about 8 years, and I have a fantastic network of friends and neighbors, but I'm interested in getting back into the dating scene.

I'm an ex-cubicle denizen turned International Man of Leisure turned filmmaker, which is a long-winded way of saying that I don't really know what my life holds next. I worked for 5 or 6 years as a software developer during the boom and bust (and boom), and I quit two years ago to travel, study Spanish, and make a feature-length film. Having done all that, I'm not really sure what comes next.

I'm looking for a fiercely smart and uncommonly perceptive guy who is as happy going to a film, a play, or a club as he is reading the New York Times in bed on a lazy morning. Not that I actually read the New York Times offline, of course, but I swear I would if I had a guy to split it with.

To give a notion of the sorts of people who interest me, here's an abbreviated list for my fantasy "I can invite anyone I want in the world" dinner party: Chris Ware, Dahlia Lithwick, Sarah Silverman, Matthew Barney, Dan Savage, Adrian Tomine, Mary Ellen Mark, Terry Gross, Doug Liman, Jeff Tweedy, John Darnielle, Wing Chun, Neko Case, anyone who has anything to do with producing "Arrested Development", and Janet Cardiff.
