Single people are "Lonely, Needin' Lovin'" according to Yahoo! Personals survey

Nearly half say they hope to meet someone who "…Loves Me Just the Way That I Am"

In advance of the 39th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Yahoo! Personals surveyed more than 6,300 of its visitors to find out which country music artists they would most like to date, favorite pick-up line from a country song, lyrics that best describe their dating experiences and more.

  • Looking for Love. Nearly half (48 percent) of singles across the country said that "Lonely, Needin' Lovin'" by Kenny Chesney is the song that best describes how they feel about being single.
  • Thoughts on Dating. While 43 percent of single men say that "Brokenheartsville" is the song that best describes their dating life, the majority of women (35 percent) said "Did I Shave My Legs For This" best describes their sentiments on dating.
  • Best Pick-Up Line. The song title "You Had Me From Hello" is the best pick-up line from a country song according to 39 percent of singles across the country.
  • Dream Dates. Which country music stars would singles choose for their dream date?
    • Shania Twain is the country music star that most men would like to date, with Faith Hill coming in at a close second.
    • Single women across the country are torn between Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, when asked which country music artist they'd most like to date

  • Coast-to-Coast Attraction.
    • Single men on the West Coast claim to be honest and straightforward like Toby Keith, while East Cost men say they are shy like Alan Jackson.
    • Single women on the West Coast find Tim McGraw's confidence sexy, while East Coast women say they find Toby Keith's straightforwardness more refreshing.

  • Singles are in Sync!
    • The majority of single women (41 percent) relate most to Faith Hill's personality and nearly one-third of single men across the country (30 percent) admit that Faith Hill's sweetness is irresistible.
    • The majority of men (37 percent) relate most to Toby Keith's honest and straightforward nature, which the majority of women (31 percent) find most attractive.

  • Love em' and Leave em'. Nearly half (47 percent) of singles across the country say "I'm Moving On" by Rascal Flatts is their favorite country break-up song.
  • Love is in the Air. Singles across the country say their all-time favorite country love song is "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain.
