I set myself on fire. I was at a cafe table across from my date, and in the processes of telling a story (with obligatory gesticulation, of course). Unfortunately, something distracted both of us, and when I looked back, my sleeve (which had stopped directly over the candle) had caught on fire. This kind of thing happens to me on a regular basis. So, I reached across the table for his beer -- mine was empty -- and extinguished myself. Strangely, his cell phone rang not thirty seconds later, and he fled the incendiary scene to deal with an alleged "family emergency." |
