Charley and Zoe
"I was thinking about relocating to the New Jersey area, which made me decide to place an ad in Yahoo! Personals to see if I could make some friends before moving there. I never expected the outcome. You never know with these things. I was pretty pessimistic, thinking I wouldn't even make friends.
Then came Charley's response. We corresponded for a few months and I wasn't sure if I should take the plunge and meet with him in person. However, I was vacationing in the area and thought about inviting him for a group outing. As the success story goes, and the night progressed, the "group" turned into just Charley and I, feeling comfortable enough to be ourselves and share in a way I didn't think possible before this night.
Fast forward to this day and age, when Charley and I have crisscrossed paths on purpose a few more times. To the point of enjoying a long distance relationship, about to turn into something more up close and personal, since I am about to move to his part of the world. I would definitely recommend Yahoo! Personals. As a matter of fact, I already have. Yahoo! Personals proved to be worth the exposure. For that and for having someone as uniquely wonderful as Charley is, I am thankful."
"First dates are kind of scary because you never really know what to expect.
I called Charley and asked him if we could meet and he said yes. I called my brother and told him about the situation and asked him if he could go with me on this blind date. My brother said yes and that was that. We all met. A friend of Charley's was there too.
Getting ready for the date was driving me nuts. I never really get nervous when meeting guys, but this was a different situation, so yes ... I was nervous. We all went to NYC to dinner, and then we went to Boulevard East in Jersey. We all got out of the comfort of a warm car and into the freezing cold of winter.
Charley and I didn't really mind the cold. We stayed out there while his friend and my brother went back to the car. At this moment I thought he was a very nice/respectful/smart/funny/happy guy. The time came when we all had to say good-bye. We gave each other a peck on the lips right after he said 'I'll call you tomorrow.'"
"I'm not the kind of person that thinks way ahead, so we are just going to take one step at a time as we have been and see where this takes us."
