I started out a discontented man, and my previous methods of meeting women were not working too well so I decided to try online dating. A co-worker suggested I try Yahoo! Personals. After setting up an email address I started browsing. My first thought was that this will be interesting reaching out to some unknown stranger with the idea of starting a relationship. I started responding to ads that caught my eye, and I must admit being a single African American male at my age I have become very selective in whom I choose to date. There were a few that I decided to try and make a connection with. Things took off fast and before long I was receiving emails on a daily basis.
Needless to say it was one lady that I really connected with and we decided to converse on the phone and via email. We started to find out that we were very compatible and were basically looking for the same things in a relationship. After weeks of communicating we were becoming closer because our conversations allowed us to cover a wide spectrum of ideas desires and dreams that we both had. All of this gave us a sort of bond. We decided to meet each other for a one-on-one encounter. We met and it was like a dream come true. She was everything I could want and believe it or not she felt the same way about me, so we started dating. Thanks to Yahoo! Personals I have found the woman of my dreams -- by the way we are now engaged and we owe it all to Yahoo! Personals. Thanks a million.

Our first date was truly incredible and one of the best times of my life, it was very romantic. We met at Houston's Restaurant in New Orleans, which has a very romantic setting. From the moment I laid eyes on John I knew he was THE ONE I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. John is such a romantic man, he fed me, I dropped dip on my leg, he licked it off ... he's the most romantic man I've ever been with. We kissed, hugged and looked into each other's eyes as if we had known each other for a lifetime. John is my soul mate. I was VERY nervous, I couldn't eat for an entire week prior to our plan to meet one another.
About their plans for the future
Although we have not set a date yet, we plan to have a small wedding sometime within the next year or so in New Orleans. We plan to buy a home together, have a child soon after marriage and work on being together and happy for a lifetime.
