Bridgett's Story
I had just moved to California from Texas and was having a hard time transitioning
into my new environment. My friends and family tried to help but it seemed like
something was missing.
My cousin, Candace, suggested that I try to go out and meet someone who could
take me out and show me around. I tried the whole bar thing but I never really
met anyone who I would want to spend time with. Then my cousin told me that
I should try Yahoo! Personals, I laughed and said no. She then told me that
she had met her fiancé on Yahoo! and if it worked for her could do wonders
for me.
So I did it. I got a few IMs at first but no one really got my attention. A
few months passed and I still hadn't found anyone, until one night. I was IMed
by a guy named Max. Max was very funny and we talked for hours, the only problem
was that he was in Japan.
I was starting to believe I had the worst luck. He then told me that he was
in the military and was going to be based there until December (this happened
in September) but that he did live really close to my house.
We talked every day
He called me that same night and we talked on the phone until early morning.
We continued to talk every day, on the phone and by IM. Even when I had to go
out of town he seemed to find a way to talk to me.
Max finally got back to California on Dec. 10. Needless to say I was so nervous.
I couldn't even drive to the airport; I had to have my cousin's fiancé
drive because I was not even focusing on the road. When I finally got to see
him face-to-face it was the greatest sense of peace that I have ever felt. On
the ride home we talked as if we had never been apart.
To this day we are very much in love and what happens from here can only be
the best because we found each other.

- Your profile is your first impression so take the time
to think about what you're putting on it.
- Be patient and look around, it took me a while to really
find that "someone" but it was worth it.
- Do searches, and lot of them. That way you can get a good
look at what's out there.
